For the Beautician

Not an instructor this time but the beautician, and she wasn't 21! The dark purple paper is by craft creations and the paler floral one is LOTV all have been cut using Spellbinder dies then mounted on each other graduating from large to small in the alternating papers. The topper is Scruffy Little Cat by Crafters Companion - Niamh. Her onesie has been coloured using copics in pale purple with yellow hearts. The young lady in question has blond hair so it's as near as I can get. The stamp pamper yourself also comes with the stamp. Birthday stamp is from LOTV and flowers and leaves from stash.

Second of three

Here is the second of the 21st birthday cards. This is for another of the instructors at the gym  who loves dancing so this Betty Boots stamp is ideal. The circle was cut with a large spellbinder die and a decorative one was cut from Orange paper from my stash. I did second and third generation stamping of music notes along with a congratulations stamp by Woodware and stamped randomly on the background. I used the
Woodware 21st stamp and paper pieced it. Betty Boots was stamped and embossed then coloured with copics before being cut out. The disco ball, from the same set was stamped onto clear, single sided sticky paper using Stazon then sprinkled with ultra fine glitter in silver. Happy 12st Gabby x

Final one!

This is the last of the 21st cards and is for another instructor at the gym, can't believe they were all born same month, same year. Anyway this is another young girl who loves dancing and not wanting to do another Betty Boots I chose this lovely LOTV stamp and coloured with copics as usual. I cut card and backing paper from stash and cut a large scalloped shape using spellbinder die. I already had the paper pieced large 21using the paper left over from one of the others that I made. So took the colours from that. I cut two smaller scallops in corresponding colours for the topper and 21 then fixed to the card. Next, using the same colours I cut the happy birthdays using All Occassion Dies and attached at the top and bottom.

First of three

This for one of the instructors who is on maternity leave at the moment. She is a very quiet, genteel girl so I thought this stamp by Kanban fit the bill nicely. I cut a large die from a set by Go Create plus the slightly small one for the paper by LOTV. I gently distressed the edge using tea dye. The large 21 is by Woodware 21st Birthday which I paper pieced with scraps from my stash. The stamp and greeting I have embossed and coloured with copics and just added a thin line of silver Stickles glitter glue. The flourish dies are by Cheery Lynn and I think the flower die is too.

Jeepers, Creepers

This is for my best friend Jackie's grandson who will be 19 next week and I thought this stamp by  Stampendous Sneakers is just perfect. As usual I stamped and bossed the image twice, coloured with copics then cut them out. I got paper and red card from my stash and mounted onto a card. Using the complimentary stamp by Stampendous Sneaker Background I stamped, embossed and coloured the panel to go down the side of the card. The banner is from a greetings set by Woodware which is stamped and cut out, I have then cut out his name using All Occassion Dies and stuck onto the banner. I'm really pleased with the effect and think this is such an ideal stamp set for a male friend/relative young and old alike.

Finger on the button

This is for my granddaughter's birthday which is the end of this month when she will become a teenager. Lovely!
As the young people of today are forever texting or whatever on their phones I thought this LOTV stamp fit the bill perfectly. I stamped and embossed the image then coloured with copics and cut out using a spellbinders die.
I took a selection of LOTV papers which I cut to various sizes and mounted each one onto brown card. I used the same card and a larger die to cut the mount for the image. Using my Robert Addams alphabet and numeric dies I cut the words and the thirteen in the same brown card. A brown faux pearl in three corners just adds a bit of decoration. A grown up card for a grown up girl.

Snowstorm

Here is the snowstorm card I promised my granddaughter. I have done one of my favourite backgrounds, as before distressing in iced spruce and stormy sky. Then stamping with the fir trees, second generation stamping. The large snow laden tree in the foreground was edged with Stickles glitter glue. I cannot remember the names of any of the stamps used but the image was embossed then coloured with copics. I stuck it onto an empty tape reel then fixed it to the card and filled with white glitter. Stuck acetate over the top then fixed a decorative top to hide the reel. The top and greeting was cut from the same background which was from my stash. I cut out some glitter snowflakes which I fixed to the decorative top and over the snowflakes on the greeting. She loved it!

Christmas Angels

I decided to do an easel card for my best friend. I used this cute LOTV stamp of angels paying homage to the Holy child. I embossed the image then coloured with copics, adding a little glitter to the Angels wings and the stars. I had the blue Craft Creations Christmas paper in my stash which I used for the whole card. I cut the image and the darker blue mount using spellbinders nestie. Out of the same dark blue card I cut the snowflake border and the large snowflake using Joy dies. I also cut a holly swirl from the same card using a Cheery Lynn die. The snowflake border acted as the raised edge for the easel to rest against. I then cut another large snowflake, the holly swirl and the Merry Christmas, also by Cheery Lynn, from white glitter card. One I placed at the top left corner of the image and the other, plus the swirls, I overlaid with the blue ones and mounted on the front of the card. Merry Christmas mounted on the blue placed at the bottom. I added Christmas sentiments inside.

Christmas Date

Here I have used the lovely background stamp by Stampendous Christmas sentiments which I have embossed in gold, then distress lightly with scattered straw.
I found some red poinsettia paper in my stash which I mounted onto card. The Christmas sentiments I mounted onto dark green card.
On the main image I used the striking Woodware stamp Christmas Date which I embossed then distressed in the scattered straw. I used copics to colour the 25 and the holly. For the berries I used Gloss-Gel. I cut around the edges then mounted onto the same dark green card as before.

Hopping by.....

I thought this cute stamp would be perfect as a get well card. It is  Woodware Hoppy frog and he has such a happy grin on his face he would cheer anyone up.
I stamped and embossed him then coloured with copic pens
Mounted onto dark brown then beige card. Fixed a pair of wiggly eyes for fun. This is for my lovely daughter in law who had a freak accident nearly two weeks ago. A piece of broken wine glass flew up and sliced her ankle, hospital tried to steristrip it, then stapled it but each time it just flew open again. After five days it was unbearably painful, swollen and infected.  Hospital gave her an ex ray and lo and behold there is a piece of glass embedded in her foot. Painkillers and antibiotics later she is now awaiting surgery. Poor love laughingly said she wouldn't now be able to wear her Louboutin shoes for Christmas she will be wearing flip-flops instead. Have to see if we can get her a sparkly pair!

Girl from Brazil

  1. The girl from Brazil is my lovely granddaughter in law whose birthday it is on Wednesday. The card is a pre-embossed card from my stash which I have sponged in distress ink crushed velvet. The panel is made by using one of Anna's stencils which has been spread with Imagination Crafts Sparkle Gel using a palette knife. After carefully peeling off the stencil the panel was left overnight to dry.
  2. When it was dry I sponged the entire panel with distress inks Milled Lavender and Pumice Stone. While still wet it was flicked with water. Using a wild grass stamp which had been inked up with the Milled Lavender I stamped at random on bottom of panel. With copics I then coloured the stencilled image leaving the tips of the flower buds white. I then mixed some white mica powder with a small amount of water and painted the tips of the buds.

For a lovely 4 year old

In two weeks time it will be my youngest gt.grandson's fourth birthday but as I will be in Yorkshire all next week with the family I thought I would take his cards with me. This first one is from me and my brother. My friend Kim lent me these two wonderful Molly Bloom stamps which I coloured with my ever faithful copic pens. The 'bridge' is fashioned out of paper from my stash which I have distress all round the 'tunnel' with black soot distress ink, very appropriate! I stamped extra puffs of steam which I coloured and cut out and stuck on the front of the tunnel. Some silver peel off cogs in the corner and under the LOTV sentiment. A nice red number 4 to finish.

Daisy Panel

I had a wonderful time with my friends down in Cornwall recently, nothing is too much trouble for them and they really go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your visit so I felt a 'thank you' card was in order. I used kraftcard for the background which I stamped with the beautiful stamp Cling Seed by Stampendous using Versamark and Frantage in Aged pink and aged gold. For the panel I used Daisy Panel by Woodware. The colouring was done using copics and I used distress ink Antique Linen to slightly shade the background. The panel was then mounted onto brown card then orange card. Yellow circle with 'thank you' sentiment mounted the same way as the panel to finish. As I have been unable to enter their challenge for a while,I think I will enter this in the
Woodware sketch challenge.

Clematis

What an afternoon, one minute lovely sunshine, next pouring down with rain, just the afternoon for card making! So that's just what I did!
The background for this card was made during Kim's lesson at Davina's last Saturday. I have sponged the card with distress inks then using an embossing folder created the pattern which I then, very gently, wiped over with black soot distress ink.
The sketch was two ovals, one smaller than the other and mounted above each other, in either order. I chose to put a Woodware sentiment at the top. The bottom stamp is Stampendous Clematis  which I have coloured with copics.
To finish I added a little dragonfly.
I think I will enter this into the Woodware sketch challenge

Remember

A good friend of mine who lives in Cornwall is vice-chairman of the British Legion women's welfare section, her husband is their treasure and they along with many others, work hard raising funds. So when I saw these stamps I just knew I had to have them. They are Commemorative by Hobby Art and these are the cards I made for them.

On the two cards above I masked the troop of soldiers so I could over stamp with more. I sponged background with distress inks. On the lower one I used the barbed wire stamp to make a frame.

I think the little poppy stamp makes a lovely frame surrounding the cenotaph  with the Queen's flight taking a salute. A shrink plastic poppy each side of the 'Remember' finishes nicely

On the card above I again made a mask of the horse and soldier, masked and overstamped several times to made it look like a troop. The background card I have stamped and embossed the medal and poppy stamps.

The card on the left really speaks for itself I just added
shrink plastic poppy wreath and two shrink plastic crosses. This is a rather long post for which I apologise also, as you can see, I haven't yet got the hang of positioning the photos and script. More lessons please Kim!

Yet More Mice

Evening everyone, today I have been to the Sincerely Yours Craft Show at Biggin Hill. Spent too much money (don't we all when it come to craft) but lots of goodies to show for it.
Being on a roll with the 'Mouse' stamps I made this card for my granddaughters to give to their other Nan.

I have used two stamps here, the Cupcake Jump and I think it's Gifts to Tie.

I have stamped extra mice from the jumping for joy stamp to make it appear that several mice have jumped over the cupcake while the older mouse is busy wrapping the presents. I coloured with my favourite distress inks vintage photo and worn lipstick but have also used copics on the cupcake wrapper and presents. Then I sprinkled Frantage Aged Embossing Enamel  in pink on the cake and a few in the air and at the base of the cake. Sponged lightly with the vintage photo mounted onto papers from stock and added sentiments to finish
I would like to enter this in the Stampendous challenge Mice are Nice.
